With the support of Purdue University's "Higher Ground Dance Company" funds have been raised so that we can bring the gift of dance/movement therapy to children with cancer at Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis. We are so grateful to these compassionate dancers who have held benefit performances for our cause and participated in our Dance Across America initiative each semester for the last 5 years! They take our motto seriously…"Let your heart move your feet!!"
Truisms- Mostly. Reflections on Life, Living, and Relationships by Cariappa Annaiah

The author is an eclectic artist and poet who supports the Andréa Rizzo Foundation, since he too believes in the role of laughter and dance as healers of hurt. Included in the book is a poem dedicated to Susan, Andréa, and the Foundation. The book is available on Amazon USA. To purchase, please click this link.
"These are short poems, mostly about the truisms of life and daily living. As reflected in the title of this book, not all are truisms, a few celebrate the moment or a person. I write a lot about relationships because I believe that the state of relationships, whether with spouse, kids, siblings, friends, and most definitely with oneself, determines the depth of personal happiness." - Cariappa Annaiah

For the first time, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is offering dance/movement therapy to children with cancer and special needs through a grant from The Andréa Rizzo Foundation. Dréa’s Dream has been embraced by patients, staff and families and we look forward to growing this program. Go to Donate/Gifts to find out how to make a donation to support our West Coast programs that are the first of their kind in these pediatric hospitals.
The Andréa Rizzo Foundation was honored to be able to escort a patient from Childrens Hospital Los Angeles to Dancing With the Stars. Amanda was thrilled to have front row seats and to get to meet judge Carrie Ann Inaba after the show and then go backstage for a photo op with some of the dancers. The Andréa Rizzo Foundation is grateful to Dancing With the Stars for offering a gift that is a “dream come true” for a young person who is truly deserving.
The Andréa Rizzo Foundation is proud to have formed a partnership with Alvin Ailey Arts in Education and AileyDance Kids, bringing the gift of expressive movement to special education students at J.M. Rapport School in NYC. To quote Ailey Arts in Education, Co-Director, Heather McCartney, “Both organizations can attest to the benefits of self awareness, self-esteem and sense of accomplishment dance and movement have made in the lives of young people with cancer or are learning disabled. When Ailey says “dance is for everybody”…we mean every body, regardless of ability or affliction.”
