Lake Washington Dance Team Friday Night Lights

 Lake Washington High School of Kirkland has pledged their support for the Andréa Rizzo Foundation’s nationwide fundraising effort “Dance Across America” for the eleventh consecutive year.

The dance team will be holding a Drea’s Dream: Friday Night Lights performance on Friday, August 23rd, from 5:30-8:30pm at the Lake Washington High School Football Field, located at 12033 NE 80th Street. “Dance Across America” is one of many fundraising efforts created by the Andréa Rizzo Foundation, a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to bringing dance therapy to children with cancer and special needs at public schools and pediatric hospitals across the country, including Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA.

Created in memory of a young dance therapy graduate student and survivor of childhood cancer, killed by a drunk driver at the age of 24, the Foundation aspires to bring dancers together to blend dance and compassion.

Dancers of all ages in all parts of the country can make a difference in the lives of fragile children by doing what they love best… dancing!

Booster Club President Trisha Triplett and coaches Jeanne Gloudemans and Kate Moore will oversee more than 150 dancers and cheerleaders from the following local schools: Ballard High School, Bellevue High School, Bonney Lake High School, Eastlake High School, H M Jackson High School, Lake Washington High School, Mercer Island High School, Meridian Mattson Middle School, Northwood Middle School, Puyallup High School, Redmond High School, Sehome High School, Shorewood High School, Tahoma High School, and Yelm High School.

Highlights will include food trucks, games, music, and plenty of performances including special guest performances. A $10 minimum donation will be required for admission to Drea’s Dream: Friday Night Lights, with 100% of spectator donations and dance team registration fees benefitting Dance Across America.
